Melodifestivalen 2012 - Second semi - Results

Photo: Olle Kirchmeier/SVT
Ulrik Munther and David Lindgren made it to Globen.

Timoteij and  Top Cats made it to andra chansen.

5th place - Thomas Di Leva
6th place - Sonja Aldén
7th place - Andreas Lundstedt
8th place - Mimi Oh

Too predictable that Ulrik would make it to Globen. David was the surprise but only because he wasn't so famous. Timoteij's song wasn't "Kom" vol 2 so ac was quite expected. Top Cats? What are they doing to ac?

Despite his name Di Leva couldn't go through. To me it's a surpriste that he finished 5th! Sonja.... well the song was a bit boring... Poor Andy! :( He did his best tonight and he finished 7th! :( Not even in ac! And Mimi Oh? Well I thought she'd be around 7th to 8th. Well 8th it is.

The possitive thing is that Ulrik, David and Danny will split the votes in the final and they will cancel each other out leaving the first spot for Loreen! I mean isn't that what happened in 2010? Eric Saade, Darin and Salem Al Fakir cancelled each other out and Anna Bergendahl won! ;)

LOREEN TO BAKU!!!

Melodifestivalen 2012 - The full songs of heat 2 in Göteborg!

Here are the full songs of tonight's semi!!

1. Soldiers - Ulrik Munther
Big hype for nothing. It's all about his name. I don't really like the song after all and his accent is bad when he sings "soldiers"! I mean you can't pronounce correctly the title of the song? But yeah ok that's absolutely nothing. It's me. I have the problem. No doubt he'll make it to Globen. I just hope he stays there.

2. Baby Doll - Top Cats
I don't like this. I just don't. As I said it's "The King" all over again!

3. I Din Himmel - Sonja Aldén
Ah... I just like the chorus. Ballad... Sorry...

4. Aldrig Aldrig - Andreas Lundstedt
Ok I love this! Probably because it's Andy's song but that can't change now. I love it! But I'm gonna like it more in a few hours. Just give me Andreas on a stage and let him sing whatever! Love seeing him performing! And judging by that 1 minute snippet from the rehearsals I'm sure we'll see something great! :)

5. Stormande Hav - Timoteij
I really miss "Kom"... I like "Stormande Hav" but "Kom" was much better. I still want Timoteij to Globen though!

6. Shout It Out - David Lindgren
Wow. I actually like this! To ac.

7. Det Går För Långsamt - Mimi Oh
Yup I still like this but it's nothing much. I want to see the performance as well.

8. Ge Aldrig Upp - Thomas Di Leva
I don't like this. The Swedes seem to like Di Leva a lot so I won't be surprised if he goes through...

A couple of hours left! Fingers crossed for Andreas!

Watch live here at 20:00 CET.

Melodifestivalen 2012 - Snippets of the first rehearsals - Semi 2 Göteborg

Ok the snippets of today's rehearsals are up! Which means one minute of each song and act is available! Let's see!

1. Soldiers - Ulrik Munther
Just an ok song! No wow-factor at all! No way I want this on ESC when we have Loreen! But keep an eye on Ulrik. Unfortunately the teenage girls will send him to Globen and maybe to Baku. (no thank you!)

2. Baby Doll - Top Cats
Wow. I din't know the Playtones entered Mello 2012! Come on! Seriously? It's "The King" all over again. Don't like it!

3. I Din Himmel - Sonja Aldén
I like Sonja but the song... Hm nothing much for me. It's a ballad which means, well you know, I don't like it. (Spain and Israel in ESC can have as many ballads as they want but it's off topic right now) The thing is that it's not a great ballad so I don't like it. I totally prefer Sonja's Mello 2007 entry! Maybe I need to listen to "I Din Himmel" a few more times but I don't know if it will grow on me... :/

4. Aldrig Aldrig - Andreas Lundstedt
Dandy Andy! I'm gonna say a lot here and I think you know why. ;P Ok I don't read or watch any interviews of the Mello artists. Except for Andreas'. So I know a bit more about the song and why he picked this song and why there's not much dancing (in that 1 minute snippet at least). Andreas wanted to focus on his vocal performance. To show us what he's capable of and I think we can see that in "Aldrig Aldrig". I like the song but again nothing special that can make Europe go crazy. It has a very familiar sound. Mello sound? Hm I'll call it mello sound. I don't see him in Globen. Unfortunately. Hopefully to andra chansen? He's in a difficult semi even though out of these first 4 songs I like only Andreas'. But of course I'm biased hahaha. It's proven that the Swedes vote for names and not for the songs. I don't know... maybe it's because I'm not used to it but I can't see Andreas solo. I want the Alcazar Andreas! He needs Alcazar! He needs his girls. We need the Alcazar music!!!

5. Stormande Hav - Timoteij
Oh my God!! Oh my God!!! I read so many comments about this! About "Stormande Hav" being an exact copy of "Kom" but this is nowhere near it!!! I'm out of words! Totally not what I expected! I'm quite disappointed! So this is it. Loreen to Baku hands down and I don't care that we have 2 more semis to go!

6. Shout It Out - David Lindgren
Ah nothing again. This semi is really bad! This is totally not the worst song. And it's not bad either but I don't see it going far.

7. Det Går För Långsamt - Mimi Oh
I like this! I like Mimi! Good for the ESC? Naah.

8. Ge Aldrig Upp - Thomas Di Leva
I wonder if Thomas ever wears pants! I never liked this bizzare style! As for the song, I don't like it much.

Seriously this is a really bad semi! And if it wasn't for the "big" names I'd say that Andreas has a chance. Needless to say that I want him in Globen right? So biaseeed! :P Fingers crossed for my man! I'm gonna vote for him!

LOREEN TO BAKU!

Melodifestivalen 2012 - What type of songs are we gonna hear?

Alright SVT will create artist pages which will be updated more frequently in January. However some of them are already there. Not all of them are fully informed but in most of them the artists and composers describe the songs! They are in alphabetical order so I'm gonna go with it.

Abalone Dots
Photo: Sven Lindwall
They describe "På Väg" as a melancholic ballad with a love theme.

I'm not positive about it. You know I don't like ballads so it must be something really great in order for me to like it.

Afro-Dite
Photo: Anders Wiklund
Gladys describes "The Boy Can Dance" as a joyous, catchy glitter song!
Blossom as a discorama!
Kayo as a groovy disco tune!
The writers Johan and Catrine describe it as an old school disco anthem in modern clothes and a modern '70s disco ball with nightclub feeling like fireworks!

Oh. My. God. Are we looking at a "Never Let It Go" part II???? Sounds like it!!!! I AM FREAKIN' EXTATIC and I can't wait until February!!!! Oh my God!! DISCO! DISCO!! DISCOOOO!!!!! They're my winners! Period. I know Andreas (Lundstedt) and Magnus Carlsson are also competing but really I'm rooting for the girls! I will vote for Andy and Magnus and Loreen and and and. BUT BUT BUT Afro-Dite will definitely be my favourite. Besides Andy is competing with a ballad (keep reading) and no idea about Magnus' song BUT BUT BUT.

 Sonja Aldén

Unfortunately there's no description for "I Din Himmel" but I'm almost sure it's gonna be ballad. If it's like "För Att Du Finns" I'm gonna like it. A lot.

Dead by April
Photo: Sven Lindwall

They describe "Mystery" as epic, modern pop/metal, the "heaviest" song in Melodifestivalen and as a punch in the face with a strong chorus.
Ehm ok... I can't say anything now. It's a mystery. ;)

Thorsten Flinck and Revolutionsorkestern
Photo: Sven Lindwall

They describe "Jag Reser Mig Igen" as a heavy song with both personal and universal text and as a good song in all contexts.
I can't think of what we're gonna hear. A ballad maybe?

David Lindgren
Photo: Sven Lindwall
There's no description about the song yet.
Loreen
Photo: Sven Lindwall
No description about "Euphoria" either. Damn it! I wanted something!
EDIT: I found an interview where Loreen describes the song. "Dynamic. Cry Me a River-feelings. Ambient. A song that crawls under your skin."

Oh God! Sounds great!!

Andreas Lundstedt
Photo: Sven Lindwall

Andreas describes "Aldrig" as a captivating melancholy in Swedish.
The writers describe it as a song to cry and dance to.
Doesn't it sound like a ballad to you? It is. I knew it ever since I saw the title. And the fact that it's in swedish sung by Andreas...totally a ballad. If it's like "Driver Dagg Faller Regn" then it's more than welcome! :D

Mimi Oh
Photo: Sven Lindwall

Mimi describes "Det Går För Långsamt" as a bombastic pop!
Niclas Lundin describes it as an honest and straight contemporary pop song with a clear legacy of the swedish '80s.
Sounds cool!
Ulrik Munther
Photo: Sven Lindwall
Ulrik describes "Soldiers" as a fresh pop/rock song with military feeling.
The writers describe it as a pop song that is about relationships and forgiveness.
All I say is watch out for him. :/
Sean Banan
Photo: Sven Lindwall
Sean describes "Sean Den Förste Banan" with the phrase "Everyone in Sweden can be/are the kings, even if it is in their own way".
The writers describe it as a good song without a quiet moment with Sweden's best artist.
Now why do I have a feeling it's gonna be a joke entry?

Marie Serneholt

Marie describes "Salt And Pepper" as a swinging upptempolåt with lots of spice.
Spicy song hehe. I am expecting a lot from Marie!

The Moniker
Photo: Sven Lindwall
Daniel (The Moniker) describes "I Want To Be Chris Isaak" as a song without genre and free in its revelation.
I'll just say don't let it be another "Oh My God"!!

Thomas Di Leva
Photo: Sven Lindwall
Thomas describes "Ge Aldrig Upp" as an uplifting energetic song with a message.

I never watched any performace or listened any song by Di Leva but I know who he is. I just don't think I'll like what he has to show us.

Timoteij
Photo: Sven Lindwall
Timoteij describe "Stormande Hav" as a hit and full of energy up-tempo song with Timoteij-touch!
The writers describe it as a folk/pop/schlager energetic song with irish garlands.

Yay! It sounds like another "Kom"!! Even though "Kom" will always be the lost chance for the Swedes to win Eurovision!
Top Cats
Photo: Sven Lindwall
They describe "Baby Doll" as a happy song with full speed.
I don't know their genre but Susie Päivärinta is one of the writers so...

These are the 16 out of 32 Melodifestivalen entries. I just can't wait until we listen to the songs!
